About Major (or Minor) Meet-Ups
Think of a Major or Minor Meet-Up like a table or booth at a career fair.
During Expo week, simply find the program you’re interested in and click on the Major or Minor Meet-Up Zoom link at any point during the time listed - think of it as an open house. NOTE: You must login your umn Zoom account to access the Meet-Ups.
When you join the Zoom Meet-Up, there will be a representative from that program that you can chat with. There may be other students already in the Zoom - feel free to sit back and listen and jump in anytime with your own questions or comments.
You can attend as many Major Meet-Ups as you want!
Our goal is that you can explore as many majors or minors that you want to.
This is the one week of the year where you can easily talk to many different departments and compare your options. If you are undecided on your major, are exploring several different options, or are curious to learn more about minors, this event is a perfect way to gain more insight.
Unfortunately, not all majors (or minors) will have a live Major Meet-Up...

What course(s) do you recommend to help me explore your major?
What activities do you recommend to help me explore your major?
What kinds of jobs are graduates from your program finding?
What's the biggest challenge for students in your major?
What do students find most rewarding about your major?
What's one thing students interested in your major should know before getting involved with the program?
Considering a major in a different college?
Meet with a Transfer Advisor on Friday, February 19th!
As you explore and learn more about majors, you may be wondering what to do if a major is outside your current college. For example, if you are in CLA but interested in majors in CEHD, a CEHD transfer advisor can help you learn what it takes to transfer into CEHD - like applications, deadlines, and more.
If this applies to you, meet with a transfer advisor on Friday (February 19)! They’ll talk you through planning for and applying to another college at the U of M Twin Cities.
